Agreement

These Terms govern your use of AI Tip & Split (“App”) operated by AI Tip & Split. By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

What the App does

Tip calculator, optional receipt OCR, shared meal splitting, and optional Pro subscription (unlimited OCR, local tip and split history). The App is a helper tool — not financial or tax advice. It does not process payments between diners.

Your responsibilities

• Verify receipt totals and splits before paying anyone
• Control who receives session codes and share links
• Use nicknames you are comfortable showing other participants
• Do not abuse OCR rate limits or access others’ sessions without authorization

Receipt scanning

OCR may be inaccurate. Review all extracted data before use. Only scan receipts you may photograph and process.

Shared splits

• Guest access/editing expires after approximately 72 hours; host recovery metadata is retained for up to 30 days
• Shared server receipt copies are deleted after guest access expires; a separate local Pro-history copy may remain on the host/scanner device
• Anyone with a valid code or link may join and view session data
• The App does not move money — settling with your group is your responsibility

Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are billed through Apple or Google via Superwall. Renewals, cancellation, and refunds follow the store’s policies. Use Restore Purchases after reinstalling or after Delete My Data (which clears our subscription cache — Restore Purchases re-syncs Pro status).

Privacy and your data

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. In Settings → Privacy & Data you can Export My Data or Delete My Data. Some records (e.g. app-store purchases, third-party analytics) cannot be deleted through the App alone — see the Privacy Policy or contact aitipsplit@protonmail.com.

Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT OCR ACCURACY, UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE, OR THAT SPLITS MATCH RESTAURANT CHARGES IN EVERY CASE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF YOUR PRO SUBSCRIPTION FEES IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS OR USD $50, EXCEPT WHERE LAW REQUIRES OTHERWISE.

Third-party services

The App uses Supabase, OpenAI, Superwall, Apple, Google, and optional analytics/error providers. We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control.

Applicable law

Applicable law, including mandatory consumer-protection rules where you live, governs these Terms. Disputes may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after updates may constitute acceptance.
